Beef Pot Roast

Pot roasts are a really great way of making the best out of a cheaper cut of beef. Slow cooked (braised) in a rich stock for a few hours with root vegetables they are an especially hearty and warming dish.

The dish can be varied by changing the ingredients of the stock. You could cook the meat in beer or red wine for a more Bourguignon like flavour. My particular favourite is to add turmeric and cumin to give the dish a Moroccan feel.

Tips & Serving Suggestions

Good with roast, baked or mashed potatoes or dished up inside a giant Yorkshire pudding.
